How to Register Your Music with BDS
First, let's be clear on the importance of BDS. In order for your radio spins to count, they need to be BDS registered. Radio stations won't even consider putting you in regular rotation unless this is done first. And when it comes time to negotiate that deal, the labels will want to see your spins. That's the only way they have proof that the people are really hearing you, other than internet presence. OK, moving on...Many artists ask me to register their songs for them with BDS. Earlier in the 2000’s e-blasts used to be the way to go. They were vital in spreading the word about events or promoting music projects. Now days, they’re just not as effective as they once were. That’s a fact. 80% of the email blasts that are sent to DJs or us bloggers get deleted, especially if they’re from a internet marketing company. Let’s face it; we get so many emails on a daily basis and that shits just annoying.
