Keshun Muzic brings songs that motivate others to chase their dreams
LAS VEGAS, NV – If you have a goal but don’t know where to start, Keshun Muzic might just be the thing you need to motivate you to “get off your ass and accomplish things.”
That’s what Vegas-based rapper Keshun hopes for, anyway. His approach to music is one that uses real-life stories and experiences to connect with others around the world in ways that inspire them to chase their dreams and realize their deepest passions. He’s been making music for many years and has seen some success throughout the West, but now with his fifth album, “POD in 5: The Urban Cowboy,” he hopes to propel his notoriety into a more global awareness.
Keshun is no stranger to the spotlight. He’s been featured on MTV and other big platforms, and his latest single “I Stay on a Mission” has been lighting up the underground streams of late. College radio stations and online DJs have been playing the single quite a bit because of it’s upbeat vibe and catchy beat. And now with the new album he has a debut single called “Getting’ Cake” that he hopes will be even more successful than the last.
“It’s upbeat and real catchy,” he said. “I feel like with the beat and my approach on the track, it gives a uniqueness and radio-ready sound that is catchy and repetitive. The lyrics are straight to the point, and it features Mac Brooks spitting some bars to elevate it just that one step more. Ultimately it’s about getting your grind and working that 9-to-5 to have your own thing and do whatever you have to do to make money. I’m just a motivating person, and I have figured out a way to motivate people to get money. This song will motivate people to go get that cake.” Keshun said he has always loved music and was first introduced to it by a grandmother who would listen to music around the house all the time. He first entertained the idea of pursuing music as a career when he saw how a good song could bring his grandmother out of a funk and bring her such joy. “I just loved the energy of that,” he said. And so over the past decade-plus he has dedicated himself to make music that helps people have a good time while also sharing life lessons from his own personal experiences.
“I hope people can listen to it and learn from it and don’t go through the same shit I went through or choose not to go through those things so they can be better than that,” he said. “I grew up in the projects with no mom or dad and could have made some bad choices. But I stayed on the path and did me and stayed in my own lane and I made it. And as a result I don’t live in the projects anymore. I live in Vegas in a house in a gated community and I changed where my life was supposed to be headed. My music pushes the goals and purpose that I’m pursuing – to chase after things that are bigger than you.”
“Getting’ Cake” is currently available to stream on all digital download sites. “POD in 5: The Urban Cowboy” is set to drop before the end of the year.
