I’m a millennial, so the music that I came up on was definitely of higher quality. These days my age is starting to kick in, and the music of today hasn’t been hittin, especially compared to the last 10 years. However, there are a few gems out there, although they may be hard to find. Welp, I found one. Madison Jay isn’t a rookie, and has definitely made some noise in previous years. But Madison is a standout because he possesses raw talent, and an excellent work ethic. The North Carolina native doesn’t miss, and with the release of his latest single and video, ”7 Heads 10 Horns”, he proves that.
Madison Jay has a diverse sound, appealing to multiple listeners and demographics, and “7 Heads 10 Horns” is the perfect example. My brain won’t allow me to remember the name of the sample in the record, but either way the production is fire. Madison lyrically shuffled all over the record. From delivering a thorough message, to witty bars and punchlines, Madison Jay did the record supreme justice. J. Cole would be proud. Actually, Jermaine would be perfect for a remix.
The old school, nostalgic vibe of the record was matched with a visual reminiscent of the 70s. From beginning to end, ”7 Heads 10 Horns” is a well polished, and put together record. Madison Jay is definitely one to keep an eye on! His light hasn’t dimmed a bit!
