Los Angeles resident Akil Ali submits his latest single, “Thank God” for Tastemaker Tuesdays today. Akil, who’s originally from Houston, is very confident in his capablities (as he should be) so give him a listen below.

I’m a little confused because he’s a kid from Houston, that lives in LA, but he sounds like an Oakland rapper on this.
This is the only Akil Ali song that I’ve ever heard, but from this one song I’d say he needs to find his own lane, master a sound and stick to it, if he wants to stand out. This is cool but it doesn’t leave a lasting impression.
